Making Lemonade

Hilton Head Christian Academy sixth grader, Anna Kate Taylor, took “making lemonade” to a new level! Early in her time of having to stay at home, Anna Kate created a watercolor painting of lemons. After her parents, Dana and Gerrick, shared Anna Kate’s art with their business coach, he used it to each his clients about making the most of the challenges they face. This sparked her idea to create notecards out of the painting and sell them to help businesses that have faced loss of revenue and closure.

In just a couple weeks, she has sold more than 1000 cards and given 100% of the proceeds back to local businesses!

Lunch Program & Cook out

We have been involved with Bible Missionary Baptist church since all most the beginning of the pandemic!  Several Live Oak members have helped fill lunch bags, wrap hot dogs or corn dogs and deliver the lunches throughout Bluffton!  Since March this program has delivered over 12,000 lunches!  To celebrate our partnership and appreciate Bible Missionary Baptist Church for seeing the need and initiating the program, we will be hosting them and some of the Bluffton Police Department to a cook-out on our property, Sunday, June 28th 1:00-3:00.  We hope you will join us!

If you have a story you would like to share about what you did during the pandemic to make life a little better, or maybe how Live Oak has impacted you or your family, contact
