Donations Needed

This weekend we are trying something new and we need your help!  We are collecting donations of gently used clothing (all sizes), shoes (all sizes), and kid’s books for a Community Clothing Closet for our Latino neighbors!  You can drop off items on Friday, November 20th, at the Ministry Center.  The Closet opens Saturday morning at 10:00am!  Our neighbors at Shady Glen, Oynx, and Avalon Shores have been invited to come and shop for free!

If you are interested in helping on Saturday, just show up between 10:00 & 2:00 and we will put you to work.  If you are bilingual your help is greatly needed!

Scrip Gift Card Orders

Have you started Christmas Shopping yet?  We are trying to make it easy on you this year!  If you are buying gift cards, please consider buying them through our Student Ministry!  Every gift card you purchase gives back a percentage to our kiddos!  They will then use the money to help fund Snowbird Summer Camp in 2021!  Orders are due on December 6th.  Checks should be made payable to Live Oak Christian Church.  Gift Cards will be delivered on December 15th.  To print an oder form click here, or you can pick one up at church on Sunday.

One activity that we all look forward to every year is our Christmas Eve project.  Well, since it is 2020, the project has been reimagined!  The biggest change is that it won’t take place on Christmas Eve.  Instead on December 19th, at 10:00am, we will meet on our property to put together gift bags and baskets for our neighbors.  Then at noon, we will be Christmas caroling and delivering gooied bags to our neighbors in Shady Glen!  These goodie bags will include hygiene items, as we have been told that is a big need in the neighborhood.  We will also have small gift bags to hand out to the kids in the neighborhood.  Each of you will also take some of our traditional goodie bags home with you to hand out as you wish!  Maybe you have a neighbor that needs some extra love, or maybe hold on to it until Christmas Eve and surprise the gas station workers, or restaurants workers, or whomever you want to share some Christmas cheer with this year.

We are hoping you can help us fill the hygiene bags for Shady Glen.  To make it easy we have created a gift registry on Amazon.  The items will ship to Jamie Haight, unless you indicate otherwise.  Items needed are as follows:  shampoo, shower gel, bath soap, toothbrushes, toothpaste, deodorant (for men & women), and shower poufs.  You can check out our registry here!

As most of you know, we have this little project happening!  Our Live Oak Performing Arts Center is getting closer and closer to reality!  We recently launched a website (click here) to help generate enthusiasm throughout the community.  Let your friends and neighbors know what is happening at 149 State Street!  There are links on the website to donate directly to LOPAC or if someone wants to become a corporate sponsorship you can click and we will send you the information.  Thank you to all who continue to be faithful to your One Home commitments!  To date we have collected a little over $370,000.00.  If you are interested in making a One Home commitment, contact Continue to keep this project in prayer.  Remember in March we gave you bracelets to pray every day at 3:46!  Keep praying! #recklessgenerosity
