Live Oak Students Kick Off: Redneck Olympics – Sunday, September 12th from 5:30-7:30 on our State Street Property. The event will start with a picnic cookout for the whole family (Bring your own chairs or blankets).  The church will provide burgers and fixins.  Families bring something to share [Last name A-K bring a side or a salad; Last name L-Z bring fresh fruit or dessert]. There will be a Parent Meeting downstairs in the Ministry Center following dinner while the students are having a little friendly competition on the LOPAC property.  Students are encouraged to dress in their “Redneck Best.” A prize will be awarded to the most redneck outfit.

Be sure to bring shoes for the Soles4Souls shoe drive!  You can bring them Saturday night to the movie (see above) or Sunday morning to church!  As always, we take any kind of shoe.  Red shoes, blues shoes, new shoes, old shoes, beautiful shoes, ugly shoes, worn out shoes, and barely worn shoes – You get the idea!  Just bring your shoes!  We will then ship them to Soles4Souls and they will either distribute them around the world to those that need shoes or recycle the ones that are not usable.  Nothing will go to waste!  We know some of you have single shoes from last year, so go digging in your closets and bring the mate to the one you donated previously!

We are doing things a little differently this year with Financial Peace University!  We are offering the class at Taylor’s Quality Landscaping.  Several Taylor’s employees are taking the class after work  and Gerrick has been kind enough to open it up to Live Oak folks too!  So if this is the year you want to take control of your finances, this is the class for you!  You can register here.
