New Month, New Cause

For the month of August, every 10 check-ins will provide a brick to help build a school. We’re working with Causely and buildOn to make it happen. You can add #bricks4schools when you check in to promote the cause. For more information about this month’s cause, check out www.buildon.org.

Soles4Souls

Our shoe drive for Soles4Souls takes place next week, August 10th – 13th, at the Ministry Center.  You can drop them off at any time.  Staff will be in the office from 9:00-12:00, but if we aren’t there, just put them in the bins by the front or back door.  We know some of you have been patiently waiting to drop off shoes, thank you for your patience!!

Encouragement for the Ukraine

Last year 3 of our Live Oak Ladies headed to the Ukraine to host a women’s conference with our sister church, Island Christian Church.  This year the plan was to do it all over again.  Unfortunately, COVID canceled that plan.  However, we are still trying to encourage our sisters in Christ in the Ukraine!  Christy Personett is asking that you take 2 minutes, make a video on your phone offering some encouragement, or a bible verse, or a short prayer or testimony, then send that video to her at christy@liveoakcc.com.  Anna M is going to translate the videos and they will be sent to Island Christian Church for their conference!  The video does not have to be perfect or highly produced.  Just a phone video. This is something we all can do.

Marriage Night

We hope you can join us at Hewitt Oaks, on Friday, September 18th, from 6:00-9:30pm for this exciting event! Yes, dinner is included!

Live Oak will be among hundreds of local and international churches who will host the first Marriage Night livestream event in partnership with RightNow Media. Marriage Night will bring together thousands of husbands, wives, and engaged couples to hear from Matt and Lauren Chandler (The Mingling of Souls), Conway and Jada Edwards (When Love’s in View), Les and Leslie Parrott (The Good Fight), and comedian Michael Jr.

Healthy marriages don’t happen by accident. They require work and dedication, but with the busyness of life and the pressures of culture it’s easy to lose focus. What is marriage supposed to look like when those initial bursts of excitement give way to everyday troubles and routines?

Marriage Night is an opportunity to learn practical answers to that question. The event will provide expert teaching and principles for a lasting relationship while challenging you to see the greater purpose of marriage—to glorify God and advance his gospel. Marriage is made for more than fairy tale ending. It’s a picture of God’s hope and redemption for a world in need of rescue.

The cost for Marriage Night 2020 is $15 per person which includes dinner from Southern Graces!!!
