Green Bag Sunday

Green Bag Sunday is something Live Oak has done for over 10 years!  Every month, we select a local compassion partner, find out what they need, then fill up our green bags and help them stock their shelves!  This month we are collecting hygiene items for the inmates at Ridgeland Correctional Institution.  Over the years we have developed a relationship with this institution through Kairos ministry.  Due to COVID the Kairos walk have been put on hold, but that doesn’t mean there isn’t a need.  The items needed this month are:  bars of soap, wash cloths, individual toothbrushes, toothpaste, and men’s roll on deodorant.

Matthew 25:40 – And the King will say, ‘I tell you the truth, when you did it to one of the least of these my brothers and sisters, you were doing it to me!’

Black History Month

Black History Month is an annual celebration that started in 1926 in the USA.  Spend some time this month celebrating the achievements of African Americans and learning about the contributions they have made in U.S. history.  We will be highlighting Black Authors this month on our Facebook page.

Don’t forget to check out the upcoming events on our website!  We have a new Bible study starting in March, a men’s event in February and a women’s event on March.  Click here to see what’s happening!
