About

Who We Are

We are a community of Jesus-followers who realize we are all messy, and we all need grace. We’re a church that tries to keep it real when we’re together and does our best to live our faith as much as we talk about it. Whether you’re a seeker or a skeptic, a follower of Jesus, or one who is returning to the church after having stepped out for a while, this is a safe place to explore Christianity; you are welcome here.

Whether you're looking for a home church in the Low Country, looking for churches online, or looking for hope, we're glad you're here. "Where God's grace meets the messiness of life." That's what the front page of this website says. Isn't that what the Church is supposed to be?

The church is supposed to be a place where hurt people can find hope. Where the curious can ask questions and seek answers. A messy place where grace intervenes. We believe that people can meet Jesus here, and that he can change their lives.

If that sounds interesting to you take a look around our site and feel free to send us your questions. From there, we'd love to meet you on a Sunday morning, when you're ready.

Who is Jesus

He is at the center of everything we do as a church. Simply put, Jesus is the One who changes the world.

Jesus once said that he was “the way, the truth, and the life,” and that no one could be with his Father in heaven without accepting this truth (John 14).

Jesus is “the Way” because of his perfect death on the cross and his miraculous resurrection from the dead. We were dead to our sins, our disobedience; because we sinned we disqualified ourselves from living in eternity with God. But God wouldn’t stand for that separation, so, in his mercy, he sent his son, Jesus into humanity to pay for our sins. Jesus never sinned, obedient unto the very end of his life, but he decided to die on a cross for our sins. He didn’t deserve to die, but he chose to so that we could have life with God. This is ONLY possible because of God’s grace and Jesus’ sacrifice. No one else in the history of the world could have done this (Ephesians 2).

So, it is only through faith in Jesus Christ – not by being a good person or doing good deeds – that we can be restored to a right relationship with God. In fact, the Bible says that because of Jesus, we are “friends of God!” (Romans 5)

He Was Resurrected From The Dead:

Without the resurrection there is no faith, Christianity, or any hope for the future. He rose from the dead, appeared to eyewitnesses, and is still at work today through the Holy Spirit. His resurrection isn’t just about our future, but the importance of our present life.

He Saved Us By Grace:

We are not saved by our good deeds, nor do we have the ability to earn our way into Heaven. We are saved by the gracious act of God sending his son, Jesus to die on a cross, resurrect from the dead, and establish His power and victory over sin.

He Is Part of the Triune God:

He was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, worked miracles and gave us an example to follow. He was (and is) fully God and was fully man, and now sits at the right hand of the Father to intercede for us.

He Told Us to Love:

Love isn’t simply an emotion, it’s an action. All of us want to belong, feel accepted, and significant. If we truly understand the love and grace of Jesus, we will love ALL people and show them that there is no greater acceptance, sense of belonging, and significance than through the love of Jesus.

He Told Us to Go:

Faith in Jesus isn’t just a personal, private emotion or feeling. It is a transforming life change that should force us to share that faith with others. If the message of Jesus is true then our lives should outwardly show it to everyone who crosses our path in the Low Country and around the world.

Doctrine of God

We believe in one God eternally existing as one essence and three distinct persons: God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit, each of whom is fully God, yet there is one God.

Doctrine of Creation and Providence

We believe that God created the world from nothing and governs all things at all times in all places.

Doctrine of Humanity

We believe that all humanity is created in the image of God and possesses intrinsic dignity and worth.

Doctrine of Sin

We believe that sin has fractured all things, leaving the world in desperate need of salvation.

Doctrine of Salvation

We believe that salvation is by grace alone through faith alone in Christ alone.

Doctrine of the Church

We believe that the Church is the body of Christ sent into the world to shine forth the glory of God.

Doctrine of Resurrection and Consummation of the Kingdom of God

We believe that Jesus Christ is returning to the world in the future to judge the living and the dead.

Doctrine of Revelation

God has made Himself known to the world in Jesus Christ, the Scriptures and creation.

Love God, love people, bring the two together
